  • Workforce calling for more hybrid and remote working opportunities

  • Forward thinking MD got in touch to understand how it would be possible without increasing the hours per day or compromising quality of service for the same cost

  • We thought we could do better than that

Boost recruitment and employee well being

It has always been true but in a world of low cost options and AI, it is more prominent than ever that the only real unique competitive advantage a business has is its people.

To attract and retain the best skills our client wanted to offer more flexible working patterns. We thought we could stretch that and move to a four day week as long as there was no change to the workforce pay.

They knew compressing the weeks hours into 4 days would negatively impact their employees well being. This was not an option.

It was also unacceptable that there was any adverse affect to the service level provided to Customers.

Could it be done?

We showed that by understanding the true meaning of productivity we could reduce the actual work burden on the employees by greater than 30% - more than enough to reduce the working hours in the week by 1 day.

As the workforce were happier, the productivity increased further and the level of service improved as a result.

A side benefit being the reduced costs and environmental impact of employees not travelling to and working in a fixed place of work.
